Odessa-Baltimore

 Almost 1 year passed from our amazing trip to the Baltimore, USA, with the project of Baltimore-Odessa experience exchange. It was hold in January-Аebruary of 2009 year and the aim of the project was to compare two communities, to see the differences and what is in common, and also to make connection between Baltimore and Odessa Jewish youth . ‘Cause we are those people who will built our future, our community.

            During last few weeks Odessa Hillel is waiting for very important guests – now 11 students from Baltimore UMBC will come to our community in the period of March 15-22. Most of them were born in the families of Russian immigrates or left Soviet Union in a very early age. We don’t know – how do they imagine Odessa, but we are sure that they know something about it from their parents. That’s why we are very interested in communicating with our guests, to show them our Hillel, our community as it is now. We want them to have actual conception of modern “Jewish Odessa”.
