On February 28 Odessa Jewish community celebratet the most funny holiday of the year – PURIM. And due to this event Odessa Hillel Center accompanied with the Israeli cultural center organised beauty contest „Miss Esther”.
Sport achievements of
Odessa Hillel don’t stop to surprise us. As far as we have strong
professionals in basketball – we also care about those students, who aren’t
champions, but want to be them!
The man, who saved one life – saved all the humanity
January, 27 – international Memory day of Holocaust victims.
Each year, on January 27th, we remember 6 millions of Holocaust victims, 6 millions of people who were murdered only for that fact, that they were jews. Every year there are memorable ceremonies are holding all over the
world.
On the 25th of January a very important event was holding in Odessa. The announcing of the winners of the project – “TOP-100 young leaders of Odessa”, the project was hold for the 1st time, and took great interest with the youth of our city, as well as with the professionals who are developing young leadership in Odessa. The event was hold to resume the activity of Odesa young leaders in 2009.

intensive care hospital in Odessa

A
very few people know that our city does not have any hospital with
the child intensive care department. But every day we have
children who need emergency help – those are children, who were
hurt by the accident, abandoned children, premature newborn and
others who need medical emergency help. All of them need qualified
medical care and relevant equipment, and their lives depend on it.
3rd
Intellectual international championship “Intellectual wars -
2009” was held in Odessa during 10-12 of May. That is the
biggest project of Odessa Hillel which encourages youth
intellectual development, promotion of intellectual sport and
also strengths the Odessa image as a resort city and helps to
develop partnership with other cities.
The 1st day of the festival was devoted for the “What? Where?
When?”- tournament. We had a special dress-code (black tie)
that gave participants an opportunity to feel themselves in an
atmosphere of sonority. We had a lot of honorable guests, -
Odessa businessmen, state governors and Jewish community
professionals. 19 teams participated in the championship –
among them were 14 teams from the other cities of the FSU and 5
teams from Odessa.

- new projects are developed and many other things exist.
